Stepping Beyond Your Own Limits: The Power of Awareness

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to settle? To draw an invisible line in the sand and say, "This is as far as I can go"—without even realising you did it? The truth is, the only one who put that mark there was you. And the moment you become aware of it, you have the power to step beyond it.

The Illusion of Limits

Most of us are operating from unconscious beliefs, shaped by years of conditioning. It’s like being in a dream, drifting along without questioning why things are the way they are. But when you wake up—when you become aware of your true desires—you come alive. It’s like stepping outside on a crisp morning, feeling the fresh air hit your face, and realizing: "Wow, I’m actually here."

And in that moment, you can make a choice. You can step through the veil of limitation and move toward what you truly want.

The Tug of Resistance

Of course, the old ways don’t just vanish overnight. You might touch moments of clarity, feeling completely aligned with your vision—only to fall back into the grind of trying to "make it happen." This is where awareness becomes crucial.

Picture yourself walking through a crowded marketplace, weaving through people and distractions. Your goal is clear—you want a fresh, nourishing salad. Along the way, there are countless detours: enticing smells from other food stalls, people calling for your attention, obstacles that could slow you down. But if you stay focused on your destination, you’ll find yourself exactly where you intended—enjoying your perfect meal.

Now, if you get caught up in the distractions—believing they have power over you—you’ll delay, detour, or even abandon your goal. But if you recognise that the obstacles are just reflections of your own internal resistance, you can move through them with ease.

Letting Go of Justifications

Here’s the kicker: We create our own resistance. If you don’t truly believe you’re allowed to have what you want—whether it’s health, success, or freedom—you’ll find ways to block it. It might look like external challenges, but in reality, it's just an internal dialogue filled with reasons and excuses.

Take Terriane’s recent experience as an example. She had an important call in the morning, but she also had a long-standing commitment to help with her son’s rowing team breakfast. Knowing the schedule conflict in advance, she made arrangements to step away at the necessary time. But when the moment came, external resistance showed up—people pushing back, trying to make her feel guilty for prioritizing her own needs.

In reality, it wasn’t about them. It was a reflection of an old belief: "I can’t put myself first without letting others down." But when she recognised this, she saw the truth—she wasn’t abandoning anyone. She was simply honouring what she had already decided for herself.

Creating from Awareness

This is what stepping into creation looks like. Instead of getting caught in emotions, guilt, or over-explaining yourself, you move forward from a place of certainty. You hold your vision, knowing it is already done, and you trust that the external world will rearrange accordingly.

So, the next time you feel resistance, ask yourself:

  • Where have I unconsciously drawn a line and settled for less?

  • What conditions or justifications am I using to block myself?

  • Am I letting distractions pull me away from what I truly want?

When you stay present to your desire, trust in its fulfilment, and let go of resistance, life unfolds with ease. Your awareness becomes your superpower, allowing you to navigate obstacles without getting caught in them. And before you know it, you’re exactly where you intended to be—living the life you truly desire.
